When the sun rises in the constellation of Taurus...

...it means we're in the winter month of June!! It was a frosty but sunny start to the day here in Dunners, which is really rather nice after days of rain and flooding!  We had a great time in the music month of May with gigs for Rape Crisis and Toroa Radio, and in between those two - a truly magical time with Francisca Griffin at Iona Church in Port Chalmers. There is a nice review of the gig at DunedinMusic.com by David Starkey.

Winter officially started last Tuesday and the band is going to be hibernating for a few months, but before we head back into the cave here's the June news:

Whitestone Winter Festival 4th-6th June
Camp Iona, Herbert, Otago.

We'll be joining Chris Priestly,Vic McDonald and Slattery?s Ashes and all the talented folk who go to the festival to make music and merriment to celebrate the 17th year of this lovely festival. We've been working hard on some new tunes and the festival goers will be the first in the entire world to hear 3 new Delgirl songs - even Scotty hasn't heard them - that's how new they are! We'll try and get some footage up on our YouTube Channel.

Music + Poetry 4 Amnesty 12th June, 7pm $15.00
All Saints Church, Cumberland Street, Dunedin

Come join us at the beautiful All Saints Church in this special fundraiser concert for Amnesty International. It will be a magical evening of music from Delgirl and Baba Yaga and poetry from Sue Wootton (2008 Burns Fellow) and for a great cause.

Keep warm people and get planting your garlic next week....
